Information Technology Principal Engineer

Role Description

We are a diversified group of companies seeking a dedicated Information Technology Principal Engineer to oversee its Product Development Projects and to ensure their successful delivery. This is a full-time, on-site role in Singapore. As an IT Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for Product Development, Cross-functional Collaboration, working closely with the Product Owner, Product Testing & Quality, Performance Monitoring, Innovation & Improvements, and other Development Aspects. Together with the Product Owner, prepare a product roadmap capable of producing scalable software solutions and driving continuous upgrades over time. Working with Cross-Functional Teams, you will oversee the full software development lifecycle, from conception to deployment, while aligning projects with business go-to-market goals and customer needs to ensure the success of the software product.

Responsibilities :

• Product Strategy: Develop and refine the product roadmap for the web service portfolio, aligning with product owner, customer feedback, and business objectives.
• Product Development: Lead the entire product development process, including ideation, requirements gathering, design, development, and testing, ensuring timely delivery.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering, sales, marketing, and customer support teams to ensure successful product launches and ongoing enhancements.
• Product Owner Focus: Work closely with the product owner to understand the needs, gathering insights to inform product development and ensuring successful delivery for business growth.
• Product Testing & Quality: Oversee product testing phases, ensuring that web services are reliable, scalable, and meet the highest quality standards.
• Performance Monitoring: Track product performance post-launch, using key performance indicators (KPIs) and analytics to assess go-to-market success and identify areas for improvement.
• Innovation & Improvement: Stay up to date with industry trends, technological advancements, and market needs to drive continuous improvement and innovation in product offerings.
• Development: Handles system design, backend database, API development and frontend developments to deliver the necessary features as required.
• Team: Practise Agile Scrum, assigning tasks of other developers, conduct scrum ceremonies as and when needed, and reviewing their work with feedback for improvement.
• Hiring: Involved in subsequent recruitment interviews for the expansion of the team.

Qualifications

·      Proven experience in IT project management, with at least 5+ years in software development and hands-on expertise in ReactJS and Python.

·      3+ years of leadership experience managing Agile teams and delivering software projects.

·      Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related fields.

·      PMP or similar project management certification is a plus.

·      Strong understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, and Agile methodologies.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Technical Skills

Frontend Development

·      Expertise in React JS, building scalable, responsive applications with appealing visual designs.

Backend Development

·      Proficient in Python, with experience in frameworks like Flask and RESTful API design.

·      Skilled in database management (SQL and SQLite) and data modeling.

DevOps & Tools

·      Experience with version control systems (Git).

·      Knowledge of Agile tools like JIRA, Trello, or similar platforms.

·      Agile Practices

·      Comprehensive understanding of Agile workflows.

·      Proven experience conducting sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Leadership & Communication

·      Ability to mentor and guide team members effectively.

·      Skilled at resolving conflicts, aligning opposing viewpoints, and steering debates toward pragmatic solutions.

·      Adept at engaging with senior management, business owners, and executives.
