About Strategy, Mandates & Impact

The Strategy, Mandates & Impact team drives strategy formulation, mandate setting, and impact measurement and management. The team also functions as the CEO’s Office, spearheading strategic initiatives and transformation efforts across Temasek Trust and the broader philanthropic ecosystem.

Strategy

  • Facilitate and support all strategy-related activities, from strategic planning, to execution, management, development initiatives and special projects.
  • Work with functional teams and ecosystem partners to translate strategy frameworks into action plans and facilitate processes to track and ensure integrated execution across the organisation.
  • Actively build alignment and promote understanding of organisation strategy with all relevant stakeholders.

Mandates Setting & Impact Measurement

  • Build institutional knowledge, capability, and strategic networks in relation to the evolving issues of Planet, People, Peace, and Progress
  • Identify white spaces and formulate strategic pathways to drive positive impact.
  • Define mandates, determine strategic funding allocation, and pull together partnerships required to achieve desired impact goals.
  • Establish impact goals, as well as systems and processes to measure and manage outcomes.
  • Work with partners and stakeholders to ensure mandate alignment and track performance.

CEO’s Office

  • Manage strategic development initiatives from screening, conceptualisation, and evaluation, to incubation, implementation, and management.
  • Drive organisation transformation and ecosystem collaboration, including through overseeing change management efforts, monitoring progress against TT’s 2030 roadmap, and engaging ecosystem stakeholders.
  • Lead engagements with key stakeholders, including Temasek Trust Board of Directors and Temasek Holdings

The Role

Reporting to: Head, Strategy, Mandates & Impact, Temasek Trust

If you are interested in being part of the Temasek Trust philanthropy and impact ecosystem with the common purpose of building better for every generation, and working actively with functional teams, partners, and stakeholders to drive positive impact for Planet & People, Peace & Progress, this role is for you.

We are seeking a motivated and analytical individual to join the Strategy, Mandates & Impact team, where you will play a critical role in shaping strategy, advancing mandates and impact, and transformative initiatives across Temasek Trust.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and frame organisation-wide strategy and roadmap towards impact delivery
  • Determine new mandates, including strategic funding allocation, desired outcomes and impact, and theory of change
  • Facilitate and support annual workplan and reporting cycles
  • Monitor progress of strategic thrusts and lines of action as set out in TT’s 2030 roadmap
  • Support operationalisation of TT’s impact measurement and management framework
  • Support strategic engagements including Temasek Holdings and other stakeholders and partners
  • Support corporate platforms including management meetings, ecosystem platforms (“Keystone”), and Board meetings

As a team member of Strategy, Mandates & Impact, you will belong to a dynamic and lean team, with a great degree of autonomy and opportunities to contribute. You will have opportunities to work closely with other ecosystem entities and corporate functions, especially with the Portfolio Development & Management, and Insights & Impact teams.

Requirements

  • Good degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in management consulting, strategic planning, impact management and/or philanthropic advisory.
  • Possess excellent research, conceptualisation, analytical thinking, problem solving and programme management skills.
  • Self-starter with proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment & to work independently.
  • Be energetic and resourceful.
  • Collaborator & team-player adept at stakeholder management
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (written & spoken), and presentation skills.
  • Data analytics and visualization skills
  • Ideally, would have experience in sustainability, philanthropy or grant-making
