Role Description

As a Part-Time Founding Sales Engineer (AI Developer Tools / Engineering Productivity) at Maara AI, you will work closely with early customers to demonstrate how the platform can accelerate the design and operation of distributed systems. You will participate in discovery calls, understand customer architectures and pain points, and prepare tailored demos and technical proofs of concept. On a day-to-day basis, you will answer technical questions, support trial implementations, and translate feedback into clear product requirements for the engineering team. You will create concise technical content such as solution briefs, integration guides, and example architectures to help users get value quickly. This is a remote role, with flexible part-time hours, where you will collaborate asynchronously and via online meetings with a small, fast-moving team.

Qualifications

  • Sales Engineering and Technical Support skills to lead technical evaluations, guide integrations, and resolve implementation issues.
  • Sales and Customer Service skills to manage the full pre-sales cycle, build trust with prospects, and ensure a positive experience for users.
  • Strong Communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience or strong interest in AI developer tools, engineering productivity platforms, or distributed systems infrastructure.
  • Hands-on technical background (e.g., software engineering, DevOps, SRE, or similar) with the ability to discuss APIs, architectures, and workflows.
  • Comfort working in an early-stage, high-ownership environment and operating independently in a remote, part-time capacity.
  • Nice to have: familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), CI/CD pipelines, and observability or performance tooling.
