Job Summary

We are seeking a database administrator to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and projects, in a reputed bank to make a significant impact.

Mandatory Skill-set

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems;
• At least 2+ years of experience in Database Administration roles;
• Strong expertise in Unix/Linux systems and databases such as Oracle, MySQL, MariaDB, SingleStore, or MongoDB;
• Proficiency in Python and Unix scripting for automation;
• Experience with incident management, including post-incident retrospectives and resolution;
• Hands-on troubleshooting experience, raising tickets, coordinating with vendors, and communicating with internal users;
• Good communication (verbal and written) and documentation skills, with the ability to coordinate clearly with different parties;
• Experience installing, setting up, configuring, patching, and upgrading database software (Redis and MongoDB), including reversion procedures.

Desired Skill-set

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, driving continuous improvement in system performance and reliability;
• Knowledge of cloud platforms and modern monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Install, setup, configure, patch, and upgrade database software (Redis and MongoDB) safely, including reversion procedures;
• Set up Active-Active, High Availability, and Redundant systems for critical production environments;
• Monitor and ensure uptime and health of databases in development and production;
• Manage replication and backup processes daily;
• Ensure system reliability and performance, following best practices;
• Troubleshoot NoSQL issues and performance bottlenecks, collaborating with vendors and application teams;
• Hands-on experience with Linux operating systems (RedHat);
• Prepare Change Requests and related documentation for production changes;
• Design and implement monitoring for servers and database instances in various environments;
• Design, implement, and automate backup and recovery architectures as needed.
