About the Role
Started in 1935, Tamil Murasu is Singapore's only Tamil language newspaper. Tamil Murasu is the main information source for the Tamil-speaking Indian community with its coverage of wide-ranging news, from current affairs to local and foreign news as well as the latest in sports and entertainment, in addition to its strong coverage on news from the Indian community and the sub-continent. The newspaper has established itself as a voice for the Tamil-speaking community in Singapore.
As a Journalist/Correspondent, you will help create news content and write/translate news stories for both online and print. You will also contribute towards online platforms, producing video and podcasts. Staff should be effectively bilingual and able to comply to daily deadlines. Staff should be comfortable to appear on videos and able to speak Tamil fluently.
Job Requirements
- Minimum degree/diploma from a recognised university/polytechnic. Fresh graduates with no experience can also apply
- News sense with a good understanding of current trends in mobile content.
- Creative and resourceful.
- Able to work weekends/public holidays
