Business Analysis and Functional Consulting
- Work with front-office, middle-office, operations, finance, and technology stakeholders to understand business processes and system requirements.
- Gather, analyse, and document business, functional, and technical requirements.
- Translate trading and risk-management requirements into practical ETRM solutions.
- Conduct process mapping, gap analysis, and impact assessments for new products, workflows, and system enhancements.
- Support the configuration of trade capture, market data, risk, settlements, accounting, and operational workflows.
- Prepare functional specifications, user stories, process documentation, and acceptance criteria.
- Facilitate workshops with business users, developers, vendors, and project teams.
- Support user acceptance testing, defect management, training, and production readiness.
- Provide guidance to business users on system functionality, process improvements, and available platform capabilities.
- Assist with new commodity, product, portfolio, legal-entity, and business-unit onboarding.
Development and Technical Delivery
- Design, develop, test, and maintain custom solutions within and around the ETRM platform.
- Build and enhance workflows, interfaces, reports, scripts, APIs, and automation components.
- Develop integrations between the ETRM platform and external systems, including market-data providers, ERP platforms, exchanges, data warehouses, and reporting systems.
- Perform data analysis and troubleshooting using SQL and other relevant tools.
- Support data migration, mapping, cleansing, reconciliation, and validation activities.
- Investigate and resolve technical, configuration, integration, and production issues.
- Review existing customisations and recommend improvements to performance, scalability, maintainability, and reliability.
- Participate in code reviews, release management, deployment, and environment support.
- Contribute to platform upgrades, cloud migrations, system consolidations, and transformation programmes.
- Prepare technical specifications, interface documents, deployment instructions, and support documentation.
Testing and Production Support
- Develop and execute functional, integration, regression, and technical test scenarios.
- Validate trade flows, interfaces, calculations, data outputs, and downstream processing.
- Support production incidents and perform root-cause analysis across configuration, code, data, and integration layers.
- Work with support, infrastructure, and vendor teams to resolve complex platform issues.
- Monitor batch processes, interfaces, and scheduled jobs where required.
- Ensure defects and issues are tracked through to resolution.
Requirements
- Strong experience working with an ETRM or CTRM platform in a consulting, business-analysis, development, or support capacity.
- Experience with platforms such as Endur, Allegro, RightAngle, Aligne, Aspect, Eka, or similar systems.
- Proven ability to gather business requirements and translate them into functional and technical solutions.
- Strong understanding of the commodity trade lifecycle, including trade capture, positions, valuation, risk, operations, settlements, and accounting.
- Hands-on experience in software development, scripting, integration, or technical configuration.
- Strong SQL skills and experience analysing complex transaction and market data.
- Experience developing APIs, interfaces, workflows, reports, or system customisations.
- Familiarity with Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, or relevant platform-specific development tools.
- Experience with system integration technologies such as REST APIs, messaging, ETL, XML, JSON, and file-based interfaces.
- Experience supporting testing, data migration, upgrades, and production releases.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work directly with both business users and technical teams.
- Comfortable managing multiple workstreams and deliverables within a consulting or project environment.
