Role Description The Business Development Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Singapore, responsible for driving growth and expanding the firm’s client base. This role includes identifying new business opportunities in property, family, and corporate law, developing and executing business development strategies, and nurturing long-term client and partner relationships.
The Business Development Manager will conduct market and competitor research, prepare proposals and pitches, and collaborate closely with lawyers to position services effectively. Day-to-day tasks involve managing a pipeline of prospects, coordinating marketing and networking activities, tracking performance metrics, and reporting results to firm leadership. The role also includes strengthening the firm’s brand presence, attending industry events, and ensuring that business development initiatives align with the firm’s values and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Strong business development and sales skills, including lead generation, pipeline management, and relationship building.
- Experience with strategic planning, market research, and identifying growth opportunities in professional services or legal industries.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, supporting lawyers and administrative staff to deliver client-focused solutions.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with strong proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese ; additional languages are an advantage.
- Solid organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and handle multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Relevant experience in law firms, consulting, or corporate business development is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Law, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Comfort working in an on-site, client-facing environment in Singapore, with a professional and ethical approach to all interactions.
