Wallenberg- NTU Postdoctoral Fellow

The Wallenberg-NTU Postdoctoral Fellowship is to bring outstanding young researchers, who have graduated from a Swedish university, to NTU for two years of postdoctoral research and studies. The Postdoctoral Fellows are given the opportunity to participate in a broad range of interdisciplinary activities and programs that characterize NTUs approach to research and education.

Key Responsibilities:

The fellow in this research project is required to:

  • Design and synthesize covalent organic frameworks (COFs)

  • Study optical properties (e.g. absorption, fluorescence and multi-photon excitation) of COFs

  • Perform photocatalytic degradation of Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) with optimized COFs

  • Look for necessary collaborations with internal or external collaborators (e.g. theoretical modelling and advanced spectroscopies)

  • To guide junior students and take responsibility of lab teaching

  • Drafting and submission of technical progress reports at regular intervals

  • Presenting the research results by giving talks on conferences and submitting manuscripts at regular intervals

Job Requirements:

  • A PhD degree related to Chemistry, Chemical Physics or Material Science

  • Strong experimental skills in organic synthesis, spectroscopies and catalysis, including material design and synthesis, structure analysis, catalysis measurement and data processing

  • Good knowledge in Organic Chemistry and Physical Chemistry

  • Experience in disciplinary collaborations

  • Excellent writing and communication skills

  • Knowledge in programming will be an advantage
