Director, Asia Climate Philanthropy Advisory
The Director will lead this pioneering initiative, overseeing its founding and growth strategy to engage high-potential philanthropic donors for climate, setting goals, and ensuring a team culture that brings out its strengths and is grounded in the Advisorys values. This role also works in partnership with an existing network of funders, philanthropic intermediaries, and partner organisations with immense expertise, all of whom are prepared to help develop, refine, and promote strategic efforts to engage and partner with philanthropists interested in climate philanthropy.
The role will have extensive latitude for translating Advisorys unique mission to help move the needle on climate change by mobilising philanthropy across Asia. The Advisory is based on the fundamental premise that todays leading philanthropists in Asia are ready to do more to leverage their credibility, networks, resources, and experience to mitigate climate change. New donors need to be inspired to give on a scale commensurate with the global scope of the problem. In order to do this effectively, these funders need high-integrity and sophisticated support.
Additionally, the Director will be aided by a strong existing network of philanthropists, funders, and partner organisations with immense content expertise and networks who are prepared to help develop, refine, and promote strategic efforts to engage and partner with philanthropists new to climate giving.
The Director/Associate Director of Climate will play a critical role in designing and elevating climate strategies and communications to enable giving at speed and scale. The role leads in two key areas:

· Operate as an objective broker for the climate field (while not being fixated on a single theory of change) to convey Asia-relevant climate strategies and viable solutions through the paces of a credible diligence framework.
· Navigate and centre high-impact climate solutions across mitigation, adaptation and resilience and ensure that the Advisory employs a holistic approach to climate impact in its portfolio curation. The candidate is not expected to have technical expertise in a specific thematic area but requires high proficiency in synthesising insights and impacts of varying climate foci.
· Lead efforts to translate complex climate knowledge into accessible concepts and avenues for action, spearheading the development of “on-demand” knowledge resources and solutions to empower philanthropists to deploy effectively to climate. Tap on insights and feedback from a range of experts, advisors, and stakeholders to ensure the quality and credibility of the Advisorys solutions.
· Define opportunities for intersectional engagement with climate in areas such as health, gender, poverty, and technology within the Asian development context. Build and elevate cases for why climate and curate portfolios of strategies with compelling co-benefits that resonate with Asian philanthropists interests and ambition.
2. Multi-stakeholder Partnerships Building & Management
· Identify and address gaps in networks, finding new partnerships and coalitions across geographies and sectors that meet the Advisorys needs for diverse validation and expertise, as well as to advance efforts to curate big ideas within the field. Promote and lead transparent engagements rooted in reciprocal information and knowledge sharing.
· Represent the Advisory externally, engaging in climate convenings and multi-stakeholder platforms to identify emerging opportunities in the sector. Play a key role in ensuring that the Advisory remains aligned with evolving climate goals, needs and strategic priorities.
· Manage relationships across diverse stakeholders, including philanthropic and civil society organisations, policymakers, researchers, and the private sector. Adapt engagement to different audiences, ensuring partnerships are mutually beneficial and strategically aligned with the Advisorys mission.
· Leverage own and advisory climate networks and continually grow, evolve, and maintain trust-based partnerships and networks in the Asian climate sector.
The Director/Associate Director of Climate will report to the Director and will also work closely with the Director of Philanthropy.
