Defence Psychologist (Psychological Health)

You will serve as the psychological health consultant to your affiliated Division/Formation/Command, developing strategies, organizing initiatives, and providing support to enhance mental well-being within the military context.

• Develop psychological health strategies and workplans
• Engage with commanders and supervisors to understand needs
• Plan and organize well-being initiatives, activities, talks, and visits
• Monitor and present well-being data at forums
• Develop interventions and provide one-on-one support such as counselling and life skills training
• Partner with leadership to resolve workplace adjustment issues
• Advise on deployment and management plans
• Train commanders on managing psychological health challenges

• Reducing stigma around mental health in the military
• Shaping a psychologically healthy culture
• Encouraging help-seeking behavior
• Staying updated on psychological health developments
• Managing personal mental well-being during emotionally demanding cases

• Degree in Psychology
• Knowledge of national psychological and social service policies (preferred)
• Applied psychological research skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Membership in the Singapore Psychological Society (preferred)
