Assistant Vice President, Institutional Sales, Southeast Asia

You will be responsible for bringing in business from institutional clients in the Southeast Asia region, encompassing sales and client services activities. You should be self-motivated to develop and implement business plans.

Role Responsibilities...

  1. Identify new business opportunities with institutional clients in Southeast Asia, focusing on tier-1 and upper tier-2 client relationships. Engage proactively throughout the year to 1) stay informed about their investment preferences, 2) identify new business opportunities or risks, and 3) mobilize internal resources to secure new business.
  2. Develop business strategies and execution plans, then implement them to achieve business objectives.
  3. Manage all RFPs/RFIs, presentations, factsheets, white papers, market commentaries, and other marketing materials, ensuring high quality standards.
  4. Update and maintain Salesforce with client interactions, sales activities, and follow-ups.
  5. Coordinate and support internal teams such as Marketing, Client Servicing, PM, RFP, Performance, and Compliance to operate efficiently.
  6. Oversee client onboarding processes, including investment management agreement negotiations, account openings, client communications, performance reviews, customized reports, surveys, training, visits, orders, and queries.
  7. Maintain strong relationships with field consultants in the region.
  8. Collaborate with the marketing team to promote Columbia Threadneedle Investments brand and capabilities.

Key Capabilities...

  1. Experience in sales within the asset management industry.
  2. Broad knowledge of asset classes and the ability to discuss strategies with clients.
  3. Experience building and developing relationships with institutional clients in Southeast Asia.
  4. Fluency in English; proficiency in other Southeast Asia languages is a plus.
  5. Understanding of business cultures across Southeast Asian countries.
  6. Strong presentation, communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  7. Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure.
  8. Willingness to accommodate night calls with overseas partners as needed.
  9. Highly motivated, energetic, and sales-driven.
  10. Enthusiastic team player with a positive attitude.
