The aim of the project is to develop an image recognition model to identify different aspects of an object, for example colour, texture and shape, which could be potentially used for disease and characteristics classification in tongue image recognition, and also develop a working app with the model.
The selected intern will participate in, but is not limited to, the following:
  • The intern(s) will learn data generation and data augmentation to facilitate model development, and will learn and compare different algorithms and techniques in image recognition and segmentation.
  • The intern(s) will also learn to do app development and communicate data science problems / insights in business language for potential stakeholders, and prepare the model for deployment to support practical solutions.

About You
  • Be pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline
  • Graduating in Dec 2026 or May 2027
  • Strong coding skills in python programming language
  • Familiarity with git and github repositories is desirable.
  • Understand concepts related to image data augmentation and deep learning models
  • Hands-on experience in Python for image processing, model deployment and app development.
  • Familiarity in Javascript, API integration, FastAPI, Spring Boot
  • Adaptability to work on a constantly evolving environment.
  • Independent, fast-learner, and self-driven
  • Good team player with strong analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Passionate and keen to make a difference to re-imagine the future of HealthTech
