Our client, a well- established global commodities trading firm with a presence in Asia is looking to expand their business and is looking for a Senior Risk Controller to join them. This role sits within the trading business with direct exposure to senior stakeholders including the Business CFO and Corporate Risk Office.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review daily position reports, including reconciliation and analysis from the risk system. Produce and report weekly, monthly MTM and fair value valuations across all positions
• Engage closely with the Business CFO and Corporate Risk Office, addressing queries and providing timely, accurate data.
• Ensure all trades are captured accurately and within cut-off timelines, in coordination with the central deal ticket team
• Establish and maintain risk policies and procedures
• Well verse in commodities trading operations such as trade execution & operations. Have managed the full lifecycle of physical commodity trades (e.g., oil, metals, agricultural products) from post-trade confirmation to final delivery.
• Familiar with documentation & compliance, have experience handling, reviewing and issue essential trade documentation, including Bills of Lading (BL), invoices, certificates of origin, and inspection reports.
• Trade Finance & Letters of Credit (LC): Have experience drafting, verifying, and manage Letters of Credit in collaboration with banks and clients, ensuring compliance with contractual terms.
• Reconciliation & Reporting: Record and reconcile daily account balances, quality/quantity records, and inventory across trading venues.

Skills/Requirements:

• Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in Trade Execution, Operations Management, Risk Control or Risk Reporting within a commodity trading environment
• Chartered Accountant or Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting
• Solid understanding of operations management, risk management, accounting and / finance principles
• Familiar with SAP and risk/reporting systems will be a bonus
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Effective communication skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders
