Role Overview

A global financial markets firm is seeking a senior operations leader to build and lead a newly established APAC trading operations support function. This role is critical to a follow‑the‑sun operating model, providing early-session and overnight coverage for US electronic trading markets. The position operates with a high degree of autonomy and serves as the senior operational authority during the APAC coverage window.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and scale an APAC-based trading operations team, including hiring, onboarding, and shift coverage
• Provide senior operational oversight and customer escalation support for electronic trading and market data platforms
• Own incident triage, escalation, communication, and post-incident review during APAC hours
• Partner closely with global technology, engineering, and operations teams across regions
• Lead and develop a high-performing team; drive performance, training, and operational discipline
• Support platform changes, testing, documentation, and resilience activities (BCP/DR, failover)

Ideal Profile

• Minimum 8 years in trading, exchange, or mission-critical technical operations
• 4+ years in people leadership within a time-sensitive, regulated environment
• Strong experience with UNIX/Linux, SQL, and production incident management
• Comfortable making real-time decisions with limited regional overlap
• Background in electronic trading, market infrastructure, or financial services technology
