Role: Head of Customs – Singapore & Malaysia

Location: Singapore

Salary: SGD 200,000 – 250,000 Total Compensation

The Company

Axzel Search is partnering with a leading global logistics provider to recruit a Head of Customs for Singapore & Malaysia. This is a critical regional leadership position within a high-performing APAC cluster, offering the opportunity to shape customs strategy, drive operational excellence, and contribute to broader business growth.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Cluster Managing Director and forming part of the cluster leadership team, you will:

  • Lead and oversee customs operations across Singapore and Malaysia.
  • Define and execute the regional customs strategy, ensuring full regulatory compliance.
  • Drive operational excellence, process optimisation, and performance improvements.
  • Act as the key point of contact for customs authorities and regulatory bodies.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders across operations, commercial, and compliance functions.
  • Identify opportunities to grow the customs offering as a strategic product line.
  • Play a key role in regional expansion initiatives, including the potential development of customs capabilities in Indonesia.

The Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience within customs brokerage or international trade compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of customs regulations across Singapore and Malaysia.
  • Experience operating in a regional or multi-country leadership role is preferred.
  • Ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • Commercial awareness with a track record of driving growth or service development.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Self-driven with the ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
