About the Job
The Group Compliance Director will lead the Group compliance function across all assets in the organization, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies. This role is pivotal in fostering a culture of compliance and risk management, safeguarding the organizations integrity and reputation.
Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance Management
- Oversee the development and implementation of compliance policies, ensuring all assets adhere to all relevant laws and regulations while effectively managing compliance risks.
- Monitor and interpret regulatory changes affecting the business, ensuring timely implementation of necessary changes.
- Develop, implement, and update compliance policies and procedures to align with best practices and regulatory requirements.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation
- Conduct regular compliance risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities.
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate compliance risks.
- Oversee investigation of compliance incidents, provide guidance on corrective actions, and ensure proper documentation
Training and Stakeholder Engagement
- Design and deliver compliance training programs to enhance awareness and understanding among employees
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders regarding compliance matters.
- Communicate complex compliance matters to senior leadership and influence decision-making through data-driven insights and strategic recommendations.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Establish a compliance monitoring framework.
- Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management and the board.
- Collaborate with business units to integrate compliance considerations into business strategies and operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or above
- 10+ years of experience in compliance, risk management, or regulatory affairs, preferably at group/regional level
- Strong knowledge of compliance frameworks, risk assessment, and regulatory requirements across jurisdictions
- Proven ability to lead strategic transformation initiatives and compliance technology upgrades (e.g., KYC systems)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, serving as the primary liaison with regulators and external auditors
- Strong analytical skills for data-driven decision-making
- Demonstrated leadership in building, mentoring, and managing high-performing compliance teams
