Help Children Learn, Grow, and Succeed

Are you a passionate educator looking for flexible, meaningful work? Viva Kids is seeking freelance Academic Tutors to support primary school children from low-income families under our KidsExcel+ Program. Help us strengthen their literacy and numeracy skills through fun, engaging sessions.

The Impact You’ll Make

You will work directly with Primary 1 to 6 students under the MOE Financial Assistance Scheme and ComLink+ families. These children are often behind in core subjects and lack access to tuition. Your expertise will give them the confidence and academic boost they need to succeed.

We’re Looking For Candidates With
  • A passion for teaching and mentoring primary school-aged children.
  • Strong proficiency in the Singapore Primary School syllabus (English, Mathematics, and/or Science).
  • Innately patient, adaptable, and reliable in a teaching environment.
  • Prior teaching or tutoring experience. MOE-registered instructors will have a distinct advantage.

Able to commit (at least) to one weekday afternoon per week (2 pm - 6 pm, conducting two back-to-back 1.5-hour sessions (total 3 hours) for 2026 academic year.

Your Role as a Tutor
  • Conduct academic sessions in English, Math, or Science.
  • Effectively manage a class size of 8 to 20 students in the classroom.
  • Deliver lessons in a fun, interactive, and encouraging way.
  • Monitor and assess student progress.
  • Adapt to different learning levels and pace of students; tailor your coaching method to meet the needs of various students’ competencies.
  • Reinforce learning through revision, games, and practice exercises.
  • Build positive relationships and motivate students to enjoy learning.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and/or Post-graduate Diploma in Education.
  • Preferable ex-MOE teachers in Math, Science or English, experienced tutors with 3 years of classroom experience will be considered.
  • Preferable MOE Registered Instructors.
  • Familiar with the Singapore MOE syllabus.
  • Good classroom management, communication and rapport-building skills.
  • Have sound pedagogical and knowledge content.
  • Confident and fluent in written and spoken English.

Rate: $35 - $50 per hour
