THKMC was incorporated on 13 October 2011 as a charity to provide multiple social and welfare services to the community at large, and achieved an Institute of Public Character (IPC) status on 18 November 2011. THKMC is the charitable arm of Thye Hua Kwan Moral Society, which lives by the mission - To Serve Mankind - to help anyone who needs help regardless of their race, religion, colour, language, creed and culture. THKMC today serves more than 70,000 beneficiaries through more than 70 programmes across five Services, which include Disability, Early Intervention for Children, Family, Seniors Community, and Therapy.
Job DescriptionThe Executive in Volunteer Management and Community Engagement (including Micro Job Program) is responsible for overseeing and enhancing the volunteer and micro job programs, and community engagement. This role involves coordinating with various teams, managing volunteer, community engagement and micro job activities, and fostering relationships within the community to support the organizations mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Volunteer and Micro Job Management:
- Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers and micro jobbers.
- Develop and implement volunteer and micro job policies and procedures.
- Ensure a positive and engaging volunteer and micro job experience.
- Evaluate volunteer and micro job performance and provide feedback.
Program Development & Community Engagement:
- Design and execute community engagement strategies.
- Organize and manage community events and activities.
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
- Represent the organization at community meetings and events.
- Collaborate with program teams to integrate volunteer and micro job programs and community engagement efforts.
- Identify opportunities for new programs and initiatives.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of volunteer and micro job programs and community engagement efforts
- Minimum Bachelors degree or Diploma
- Minimum of 2 years experience, preferably in volunteer management and community engagement.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and volunteer management software
- Passion for community service and volunteerism.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
- Candidates who are able to speak Mandarin/Chinese dialects are preferred, to communicate with Mandarin/Chinese dialect-speaking volunteers
