Our Client is looking for a Product Director to lead the modernisation of a trade platform supporting import, export, permits, regulatory compliance and cross-border trade workflows.


This is a senior product leadership role for someone who can combine strong product fundamentals, hands-on technical understanding, regulatory domain knowledge and people leadership. The successful candidate will help shape a multi-year transformation programme, working closely with government stakeholders, engineering teams, policy teams, vendors and industry users to modernise a core system that supports a trade ecosystem

What You Will

  • DoLead the product strategy and roadmap for a large-scale import/export platform modernisation program

  • es.Work closely with regulatory stakeholders, engineering teams, design teams, vendors and external users to translate complex business, policy and operational requirements into scalable product solutio
  • ns.Drive modernisation of legacy systems, including workflow redesign, platform re-architecture, process automation, data integration and AI-enabled capabiliti
  • es.Identify how AI can be responsibly applied to improve manual workflows, regulatory checks, data quality, document processing, risk assessment, decision support and operational efficien
  • cy.Lead discovery, problem framing, prioritisation, roadmap planning, delivery sequencing and post-launch iteration across multiple product domai
  • ns.Partner with engineering leaders to assess technical feasibility, architecture decisions, API design, system integrations, data models, security considerations and delivery ris

  • ure.Strong technical understanding, with the ability to work closely with engineers on architecture, APIs, data flows, system integrations, security, infrastructure and engineering trade-o
  • ffs.Able to remain hands-on where needed, including writing detailed product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria and technical-facing documentat
  • ion.Coding experience or prior hands-on engineering experience is strongly preferred.
