Job Overview - Certified Medical Assistant (Outpatient Behavioral Health): Compensation: $23/hour Location: Montgomery County, PA Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Provide clinical and administrative support as a Certified Medical Assistant (Outpatient Behavioral Health) with our client in Montgomery County, PA. Assist prescribers, manage lab orders and prior authorizations, take vitals, prepare charts, and document in the EMR. Coordinate bridge prescriptions, oversee medical waste disposal, and maintain compliance with behavioral health protocols. Ideal for medical assistants with outpatient behavioral health or intellectual and developmental disability experience.

Responsibilities as the Certified Medical Assistant:

• Patient Intake & Clinical Support: Greet patients, record vitals, update EMR, and assist prescribers with bridge prescriptions and refills.
• Lab Management: Process lab orders, collect specimens, and upload results into patient charts.
• Administrative Coordination: Manage prior authorizations, update records, and schedule follow-ups.
• Compliance & Documentation: Maintain accurate records per HIPAA and behavioral health regulations.
• Medical Waste & Collaboration: Oversee medical waste disposal and work closely with the care team to support daily operations.

Qualifications for the Certified Medical Assistant:

• Certification: Must hold a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential and maintain current CPR/BLS certification.
• Experience: 2+ years as a medical assistant, preferably in outpatient behavioral health or with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in EMR systems and Microsoft Office Suite, with strong data entry and documentation skills.
• Skills & Attributes: Excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining professionalism and patient confidentiality.
