Business Unit

Corporate Development Group (CDG) as the platform for the company's new business incubation and new business exploration, CDG is responsible for promoting development and innovation for important areas such as financial technology and advertising, as well as marketing services, including payment and financial applications. As a professional support platform, CDG also supports the company and various business groups in strategic planning, investments and mergers, investor relations and corporate global communications, marketing and public relations, and more.

What the Role Entails

Tencent Finance & Technology (FiT) Singapore is looking for a Business Development Manager / Senior Business Development Manager to join our team and participate in building and growing Tencent’s global cross-border payment network with key industry players.

What you will be doing:

  • Identify business development and partnership opportunities across the APAC region to build up Tencent’s global cross-border payment network in the 1) Wallet & Payment space and 2) Remittance Space.
  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of assigned partner portfolios, covering both Business Development (BD) and Account Management (AM), from partner onboarding and go-live through to post-launch growth and transaction volume expansion
  • Formulate customer expansion strategies and tactics according to business goals, including prospecting of customers, deal structuring & negotiation, customer onboarding, project go-live and ongoing relationship management.
  • Utilize diversified integrated marketing methods such as joint marketing with partners, brand advertising, offline exhibition marketing, content/case marketing, etc., to help improve business brand influence and industry reputation.
  • Coordinate with multiple internal functions including legal and compliance, operations and product teams to project manage all aspects of the partnership process and ensure efficient execution.
  • Architect scalable sales and partnership processes, including pipeline management, deal governance, cross-functional workflow optimization and post-launch performance tracking.

What you will need:

  • Bachelor degree or above in Business/Finance/Economics/Computer Science or related field, with strong interest in developing a career in the FinTech payment space.
  • 4- 8 years of experience in serving major customers in the financial industry; experience in cross-border payment industry is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of sales strategy development, pipeline management and commercial structuring.
  • Experience in process design or operational improvement within a matrix organization is a plus.
  • Have extensive network resources and experience in the cross-border payment space.
  • Excellent team management capabilities, project management and resource coordination capabilities, with the ability to effectively accelerate implementation of cooperation projects.
  • Highly self-driven and passionate about fintech and payments.
  • Eagerness to continuously drive process improvement.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin is preferred to facilitate effective coordination with HQ and cross-regional stakeholders.
