Associate Vice President, Media Sales role at Asia Football Group (AFG) is the exclusive commercial agency for the AFC competitions from . AFGs partnership with the AFC covers the commercial rights for all major AFC National Team and Club competitions, including the AFC Asian Cup, AFC Asian Qualifiers, AFC Womens Asian Cup, AFC Womens Olympic Qualifiers, AFC Champions League Elite, AFC Womens Champions League, and AFC Champions League Two, as well as AFC youth and futsal competitions.

The Role

This position will execute all aspects of the sale of the AFC competitions in the marketplace. Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Media Sales, the role will be responsible for the creation of localised media sales strategies, content/channel syndication, negotiating and closing rights deals, and maintaining strong relationships with a wide range of international broadcasters and digital platforms.

The role will be collaborative, dynamic and visionary. The right candidate will have media rights experience, be a personable executive with the ability to quickly build trust and cross-functional relationships. The position will be based in Dubai or Singapore.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop expert knowledge of key AFC competitions.
  • Drive negotiations and deal-making with worldwide broadcasters, digital platforms, and other media rights partners.
  • Experience with European, Middle East and North American markets is a bonus.
  • Stay ahead of trends in the media landscape, including the rise of new platforms, shifts in broadcasting rights, and digital transformations.
  • Develop and maintain strong positive relationships with key media and broadcasting clients.
  • Consistently drive revenue through negotiating market-defining deals and closing upsell opportunities by determining rights segmentation and programming packaging to achieve optimum sales outcomes.
  • Provide detailed media market reports to support strategic, market-by-market media sales planning, strategy development and defining sales timelines.
  • Develop high-quality market sales plans (short, medium and long-term) using market research data.
  • Manage the full sales cycle in appointed markets from prospecting to contracting.
  • Track and report on media sales targets.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • 5-8 years of experience in sports media and selling premium sports media rights.
  • Previous experience in a media sales, channel syndication or media partnerships role. Specialist knowledge of the digital marketplace is a plus.
  • Outstanding understanding of media landscapes and the competitive environment (broadcasters, platforms, digital players, telcos).
  • Demonstrated skill in negotiating and closing sales agreements with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to advise a group of stakeholders, including the AFC, senior leadership and external partners.
  • Strong relationship builder who is comfortable operating across multiple markets.
  • Highly attuned to cultural differences and nuances with outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to undertake extensive international travel.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English. Additional language abilities are considered highly.
