We are a design-forward ecosystem brand standing at the intersection of high-performance statement hardware and specialty spices that make everyday eating anything but bland. Our grinders and peppercorns are just the starting point for turning seasoning into sensory rituals for all tastemakers globally.

The Role: Editor-in-Chief

We are looking for an Editor-in-Chief—our chief content strategist, narrative architect, brand voice guardian, and communications mastermind.

This is a lifestyle-media-caliber leadership role for a startup. Think Apartmento x Lucky Peach x It’s Nice That, with a dash of playful rebel energy. You will work side-by-side with the co-founders to build our content playbook from the ground up, turning "spice geeking" and dining design into a modern movement.

  • Location: Singapore (Hybrid) or Remote
  • Type: Highly hands-on contributor with the ability to scale and manage a network of freelancers and other team members.

Your Scope

  • Lead Content Strategy: With an editorial lens, build Piper’s voice in the food & design space, direct our stories across all channels (social, website, e-commerce, and other platforms as your playground)
  • Editorial System Iteration: Execute personally on content writing across our core pillars, codify our editorial style guide, govern Piper voice across all communication touch-points, a build a system to work with other team members or 3rd party players to expand our storytelling
  • Email & Blog: Own our email newsletter and brand blog, turning them into must-read digital publications rather than traditional DTC marketing fluff.
  • Creator & Media Orchestration: plan & coordinate creator collaborations and media partnerships across North America, Australia, and Singapore.
  • Community Engagement Guidance: Provide direction for community interactions, collaborating closely with our Customer Support & Community Engagement Specialist to foster deep connections.
  • Deep Business & Product Integration: Geek out with the founders and product team to translate technical craftsmanship into sensory magic, and unlock the potential of the humble peppercorn and other overlooked spices.
  • BYO channel: Experiment with your own communication platform of choice based on understanding of the business and the market, be it magazine, podcast or anything else

Who You Are

  • A Visionary Storyteller: Background in food/lifestyle media, cultural journalism, or high-end consumer brand comms.
  • Hands-on & Scalable: A executioner who is equally capable of building workflows, managing freelance contributors, and coordinating with other team members.
  • Culturally Fluent: Deeply tuned into design, culinary arts, and global lifestyle trends.
  • Market Savvy: Familiarity with North American/Australian consumer lifestyle markets is a big plus.
  • A Bold Pen: You write with swag—precise, vivid, and always human.
