Overview

An established energy platform is seeking a commercially driven transaction professional to lead the divestment and monetisation of energy assets across the Asia-Pacific region. Covering markets including Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, this role will be responsible for originating investors, managing competitive sale processes, and executing complex transactions across projects at various stages of development and operation.

The successful candidate will act as the commercial lead for transactions, driving opportunities from investor engagement and market positioning through to negotiation, signing, and completion.

Key Responsibilities

Transaction Origination & Asset Monetisation

  • Lead the sale and monetisation of energy assets across development, construction, and operational stages
  • Identify, engage, and cultivate relationships with potential investors, including infrastructure funds, utilities, independent power producers (IPPs), strategic investors, and institutional capital providers
  • Develop and maintain a strong network of active investors and market participants across APAC
  • Manage investor outreach, market sounding activities, and competitive transaction processes

Transaction Execution & Deal Management

  • Take ownership of transaction execution from initial engagement through to completion
  • Coordinate internal and external stakeholders across commercial, financial, legal, technical, and tax workstreams
  • Manage due diligence processes and oversee preparation of transaction materials
  • Lead negotiations on commercial terms, valuation discussions, transaction structures, and definitive agreements
  • Support deal closing activities and post-signing requirements as required

.Investment Positioning & Commercial Strategy

  • Develop compelling investment cases and transaction strategies for individual assets and portfolios
  • Translate technical, operational, and market attributes into clear and attractive investment propositions
  • Assess and optimise exit strategies based on market dynamics, investor demand, and revenue frameworks, including contracted, merchant, and hybrid structures
  • Provide strategic recommendations on timing, valuation, and transaction approaches

Market Intelligence & Investor Coverage

  • Monitor transaction activity, investor appetite, valuation trends, and evolving market dynamics across key APAC renewable energy markets
  • Maintain a strong understanding of active investors, acquisition strategies, and capital deployment trends
  • Provide market insights to support business strategy, portfolio optimisation, and transaction planning

Requirements

Experience & Background

  • Minimum 5 years of experience within energy transactions, project finance, M&A, investment banking, corporate development, infrastructure investments, or related commercial functions
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully executing and closing energy, infrastructure, or energy transition transactions
  • Prior sell-side transaction experience is highly desirable
  • Experience working with energy projects, or broader energy transition assets is preferred
  • Exposure to project financing, structured energy contracts, power purchase agreements (PPAs), or tolling arrangements would be advantageous
  • Experience across Australia, the Philippines, or wider APAC renewable energy markets is considered beneficial
