Responsibilities:
1. Develop a framework for identifying and quantifying FX risks imbedded in the group’s operating businesses and investment portfolios globally. Assume a USD base currency.
2. Continuously assess emerging and significant FX risks within the group and recommend hedging strategies accordingly to CFO/CRO for execution at the level of the operating businesses and Family Office.
3. Work with operating businesses to develop relationships with appropriate bank counterparties and establish bank lines for executing hedging strategies accordingly.
4. Prepare monthly report on group hedging positions and marked-to-market gains and losses.
5. Coordinate with local Treasury/FX teams on hedging FX risks.
What positions to hedge:
1. Capital deployed in local currencies.
2. Translation gains or losses on consolidated P&L of operating businesses in local currencies.
3. Portfolio investments in equities and fixed income in local currencies.
4. Focus on volatile local currencies.
