Position Summary

Responsible for leading depot operations within the ISO Tank industry, ensuring efficient day-to-day activities while maintaining full compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards. This role combines operational oversight with strong safety leadership to support effective logistics coordination, inventory control, and safe working practices. Acting as a key link between staff and management, the position drives operational performance, minimizes risk, and ensures a safe, compliant, and productive working environment.

Key Accountabilities

Depot Management

• Manage day-to-day depot operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective service delivery.
• Develop and improve operational procedures to enhance productivity, optimize resources and meet customer requirements.
• Monitor depot performance and operational KPIs, taking corrective action where necessary.
• Ensure proper maintenance and safe operation of depot equipment and facilities.
• Oversee the effective use of depot systems and ensure timely and accurate operational data.
• Key point of contact for operational matters involving customers, staff, contractors and internal stakeholders.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

• Ensure full compliance with HSE policies, legal requirements, and company standards
• Identify hazards and manage operational risks through inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
• Lead incident reporting, investigation, and follow-up corrective and preventive actions
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure safe work practices are followed by employees and contractors.
• Maintain emergency response readiness and ensure compliance with Dangerous Goods and hazardous materials requirements.
• Monitor and analyze operational and HSE performance metrics to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities.

Key Performance Indicators

• Depot operational efficiency and service delivery performance.
• Compliance with HSE regulations and company safety standards.
• Reduction in workplace incidents, injuries and safety violations.
• Achievement of operational KPIs such as turnaround time, M&R performance, and yard management efficiency.
• Customer satisfaction and service reliability.
• Vendor performance and operational cost optimization.
• Staff productivity, engagement, and compliance with optional procedures.
• Timely reporting and resolution of incidents and operational issues.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field.
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in depot operations, logistics, tank container operations, or related industries.
• At least 3-5 years of leadership or managerial experience in operations or HSE management.
• Strong knowledge of Dangerous Goods (DG) handling, tank container operations, depot management, and safety regulations.
• Experience in operational KPI management, risk assessment, and incident investigation.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communications and stakeholders management skills.
• Familiarity with Depot Management Systems, safety management systems, and operational reporting tools.
