Our client is a research and venture building unit of a Japanese FMCG conglomerate, mandated to identify, invest and build businesses around naturally occurring substances. They work closely with established FMCG and consumer brands to validate new product concepts and build sustainable growth businesses. They are seeking a Venture Development Manager to create and grow businesses for the next generation of consumers.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, engage and develop relationships with established consumer brands across Asia for product validation and venture-building partnerships
• Lead business development activities including partner sourcing, opportunity assessment, proposal development and partnership negotiations
• Scope, structure and execute product validation projects from concept through market testing
• Conduct market research, consumer validation and competitive analysis to assess product-market fit
• Develop business models, growth strategies and commercialisation roadmaps for validated products and ventures
• Design and validate go-to-market strategies covering sales, marketing, distribution and communications
• Prepare financial models, business cases, revenue forecasts and investment projections
• Support management reporting, budgeting, audit requirements and corporate governance matters
• Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders across multiple simultaneous projects

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or related discipline (CPA, ACCA or CFA advantageous)
• 3-7 years in business development, venture building, corporate innovation, strategy or product management
• Experience in FMCG, food & beverage, consumer products or retail highly preferred
• Strong financial modelling, forecasting and business case development skills
• Entrepreneurial mindset with strong commercial acumen
