Research Assistant (Cognitive Measures Harmonization)

The Centre for Research and Development in Learning at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (CRADLE@NTU) seeks applicants with a Bachelors (Honours) degree in Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience or related field from University of good standing for a Research Assistant Position.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of research projects in the Science of Learning in emerging skills (literacy and numeracy). This position requires task-orientation, excellent organizational skills, attention to details and accuracy, flexibility in responding to fluid situations, good interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently. Experience with cognitive/neuropsychological testing and research in educational settings (e.g., schools) is required.  

Key Responsibilities:

• Liaise and work closely with stakeholders from external institutions to identify project collaborators

• Conduct literature reviews and preparing research progress reports

• Day to day coordination of funded projects

• Maintaining ethics documents for institutional review boards

• Participant recruitment and scheduling

• Data collection using psychological and neurocognitive techniques, such as cognitive testing

• Perform research-related administrative work, e.g. purchase of materials/equipment for research

• To manage day to day operations and meticulous record keeping of the research project

• Data processing and storage, including scoring and maintaining database

• To carry any other duties as required by Principal Investigator

Job Requirements:

• Bachelors (Honours) degree in Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience or related field from University of good standing

• Experience with cognitive assessment with children

• Possess excellent communication skills with a good command of the English language to perform literature reviews, prepare research progress reports and create visual infographics for presentations

• Good project coordination and administration skills, including data management and storage

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Excellent organizational skills and able to work within given deadlines

• Competency with statistical software (e.g., SPSS)

• Able to work independently

• Self-directed learner who effectively picks up relevant skills as needed

• Communication skills in a mother tongue language (e.g. Chinese, Malay) preferred for research work purposes
