Senior Process Safety Engineer (Petrochemical)

We are seeking a Senior Process Safety Engineer for our client in the petrochemical industry to lead and oversee the organisations process safety initiatives, with a primary focus on preventing major incidents and ensuring the safe operation of industrial processes.

This role involves developing and executing safety management systems, performing hazard assessments, and offering technical guidance to meet regulatory and industry standards. The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge, leadership, and project management capabilities to drive the implementation and continuous improvement of the Process Safety Management (PSM) framework, including adherence to regulations such as the Major Hazard Installations (MHI) requirements.

Job Description

• Provide oversight and support for site safety cases, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Lead efforts to maintain and enhance Process Safety Management (PSM) systems in accordance with Singapores MHI regulations.
• Conduct and facilitate major hazard risk assessments (e.g., QRA, HAZOP, LOPA) and ensure timely follow-up on action items.
• Manage the ongoing Safety Case process, including regular updates and ensuring alignment with required safety standards.
• Monitor site performance against Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) targets, driving continuous improvement.
• Coordinate sustainability reporting, handling data analysis, and ensuring accurate documentation.
• Administer SHE-related electronic systems and manage documentation.

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of experience in the oil, gas, or petrochemical industry, or relevant exposure to process safety management.
• At least 5 years of experience in administering SHEQ programs.
• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related discipline focused on Safety, Health, and Environmental studies.
