About the Job:
We are looking for a dynamic and creative Assistant Editor to join our editorial team in Singapore. This role offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of producing top-tier content for our regional trade magazines, covering the ever-evolving travel and business events industries.
As an Assistant Editor, you will play a pivotal role in crafting compelling stories and features for our print and digital platforms. Your responsibilities will include working on editorial strategies, managing content creation, and working closely with both internal and external teams to produce high-quality work that resonates with the travel and business events communities across Asia.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Editorial Director to define editorial strategies and craft engaging, high-quality content for the travel and business events industries in Asia;
- Oversea and manage content creation by assigning and developing news articles with correspondents and team members;
- Manage publishing schedules and ensure timely production by liaising with stakeholders and meeting deadlines;
- Contribute to the ongoing development of our digital platforms, working closely with the Sales and Marketing teams to ensure seamless integration of content;
- Conduct research, interviews, and produce in-depth, informative, and engaging articles on industry trends, destination features, and business event coverage and:
- Represent the publication at press conferences, media fam trips, trade shows, exhibitions, and conferences, both locally and internationally, to build industry contacts and reaching out to them for news and information.
Skills & Experience:
- Educational background: Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 3 years of editorial experience, ideally in the travel, meetings/events sector, or B2B environment
- Writing & editing skills: Exceptional command of English with the ability to write and edit content at a native level
- Attention to detail: Proven ability to check and review copy and layouts with a focus on accuracy and quality
- Multi-tasker: Ability to juggle multiple deadlines and projects in a fast-paced environment while delivering high-quality work
- Digital Savvy: Knowledge of social media platforms, SEO, and the digital publishing landscape
- People Skills: A natural communicator who builds relationships easily with team members and industry professionals alike
