Senior Executive, Shipping

Location: Pandan Loop, Singapore

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Executive, Shipping to join our dynamic team. This role involves managing export shipments, preparing complete sets of shipping documents accurately and on time, and ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements. You will also assist the team leader in guiding team members, particularly in areas such as Letters of Credit (L/C).

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain Customer Shipping Instructions (CSI) and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Liaise with internal and external parties for export shipments and documentation.
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of full sets of shipping documents.
• Present documents for payment as per contract terms, including L/C compliance.
• Monitor and collect payments according to contractual terms and company policy.
• Vet L/C terms and request amendments when necessary to reduce payment risks.
• Coordinate marine insurance coverage and freight payment processing.
• Guide and coach team members on documentation and L/C handling.

Requirements

• Education:
• Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management or related field.
• GCE 'A' Level or equivalent.
• Experience:
• 5–8 years of relevant working experience in SME or MNC environment.
• 1–3 years in a supervisory role.
• Technical Knowledge:
• Strong understanding of Incoterms, UCP600, ISBP, URC522.
• Proficient in export shipping procedures and documentation.
• Experienced in handling various types of L/C and payment modes.
• Skills:
• Leadership, analytical thinking, problem-solving, multi-tasking.
• Planning and organizing skills, effective communication, initiative, and coaching ability.
